Alyssa + Sam's Belhurst Wedding | Geneva NY Wedding Photographer
I knew after a great engagement session with Alyssa and Sam that we'd definitely rock this wedding. A little rain in the morning and a back injury didn't stop these two from having an emotional and epic celebration in Geneva. The St. Stephens Church hosted their touching wedding ceremony and Belhurst castle was where the rest of their wedding took place, making for some amazing wedding photos. We even had a little extra time to do a fun experiment, something I've worked many months towards realizing at a wedding. The rain only came during the ceremony, so no one got wet and we had comfortable photos outside.
The guys prepared at the Dwyer house, right next to the Belhurst Castle, and the women did so inside the castle.
A minor mishap with a necklace was soon fixed

A stunning choice of dress!
There were some tears right from the start of the ceremony, throughout.

Now this was the cool experiment I was alluding to earlier. We had time for me to set up (and tear down) my portable dark room, chemicals and camera to take this photo. It is using the same photographic process as was used in the 1860s.. a collodion wet plate "tintype" that has to be created, photographed, developed and fixed all on location within about a 15 minute window. The original "instant" photography!
I also shot some more modern instant photography in the form of polaroids
Lallie and Eddie were here too (with one more).. Alyssa is Lallie's cousin! Always a pleasure to see former clients again.

Thank you Alyssa and Sam for the honor of documenting your most wonderful celebration.
