Robin + Alex's Sanborn NY Wedding | Western New York Wedding Photography
Bonding over a love of running and clearly affectionate with one another, Alex and Robin were wed at the Knox Evangelical Presbyterian Church in my childhood hometown of Kenmore NY (near Buffalo). The tears shed and the fun and hugs and friendliness were a testament to their love for each other and of their families and friends. I first met Alex when he was a teenager through the Civil Air Patrol, but recently reconnected with him at his sister Donna's Buffalo City Hall wedding.
The reception was at Bond Lake Park with a commanding view over the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario in the distance. The rain held off all day for beautiful portraits at Delaware Park first, then around the grounds at Bond Lake Park. The reception was blue themed (my favorite color, too!) and quite the epic party as you'll see in the photos.
The day started with preparations at the church with the ladies.
It's a family tradition to have a photo of the sister putting on the bridal veil
When Robin's dad came in, it was too much for everyone

They have tied the knot, figuratively and literally.
Even the nephew is excited!
We went to Delaware park briefly to do some portraiture. I started with a bokeh panorama (a.k.a. "Brenizer" pano), then we moved on to lighter fare

Some of the details from the wedding. (blue and white are my favorite color combo BTW)

The kids had a good time too!
Tickle monster!
All of Alex's siblings
DJ Mike from CJ Sound had a great idea.. while playing Piano Man from Billy Joel, have everyone crowd Robin and Alex for a hug whenever he does the "la da da" part of the song
A good time was had by all!
Thanks guys for a good time and the chance to take some creative license!
