Kate + Dave's Canandaigua Wedding, June 2015 | Rochester NY Wedding Photographer
Kate is from Rochester. Dave is from England. They met while doing volunteer work in Costa Rica. They stayed in touch with the magic of skype, then lived in Vietnam together teaching English, where Dave proposed. All of Dave's friends and family came over from England to witness his wedding to Kate at the beautiful and historic Granger Homestead and Carriage Museum in Canandaigua, NY. The ceremony and reception were both there at the Granger Homestead, making for a beautiful backdrop for wedding photography. Later that night, they headed over to the lakehouse on Canandaigua Lake where they had a bonfire and many of the English visitors tried Smores for the first time. The next day, I was asked to document the family barbecue there at the lake house catered by Dinosaur BBQ (delicious!!!), where a little rain didn't stop folks from having fun.
I am lucky to have met this wonderfully friendly and outgoing couple, and witnessing their lovely wedding, and hanging out with cool people. Thank you for making me the luckiest wedding photographers in Rochester!
Kate's brother and "man of honor" Steve arrived. With alcohol.
Walking down the aisle
A beautiful day and emotional ceremony.
A reading of the Velveteen Rabbit
They then passed the rings around for a 'ring warming' ceremony where each guest warmed the rings in their hands.
Wedding photos around the Granger Homestead.
A polaroid instant film shot of the ladies hanging around before their introduction.
Kate and Dave each got up to speak as well
The shoe game is always one of my favorites.
And the party begins...
A final dance to end the night
Venus and Jupiter shining over the gorgeous lakeside view
After a late party, everyone gathered together again the next day for some excellent Dinosaur BBQ and relaxation.
Bubbles were licked
Soooo full... and hiding from the camera ;)
Little George, the ring bearer, was amused by the rain.
Thank you again for a wonderful time.
