Koppers Family Portraits | Rochester NY Family Photojournalism Portrait Photographer

I had the distinct pleasure of working with Kristen of Kristen Koppers Photography this year. She did wonderful family portraits of my wife, 3 boys and I in November, and in turn I did these family photojournalism portraits of her husband, 3 boys and her. It is important for us photographers to be on the other side of the lens once in a while, to remember what it feels like for our clients-- and to get some pictures of ourselves! I offer documentary-style family portraits that show everyone interacting in a more normal setting than a typical studio family portrait session, or wearing matching white shirts on a beach. Kristen, her husband and her boys were all hanging out in their living room on this day. They read some comic books, then played with their superhero costumes, followed by some jumping-on-the-bed fun, and a nice popcorn snack. There was silliness, laughter, epic leaps and battles, hugs, a few tears, wrestling and snuggles.

What I like best about this photo is I never told them to do anything.. I just suggested maybe it was snack time. This wonderful moment happened naturally.
