Stacy's Maternity Photos | Rochester NY Maternity Portrait Photography
I was very excited to meet up with my clients from 2009, Stacy and Sean, to shoot a maternity session with Stacy who is expecting a baby girl in May! Stacy and I both discussed ideas for what the shoot should look like and, being the awesome client like all my clients are, she and I were very much on the same page with regard to content and style. We were both looking to avoid the cliche maternity portraits and instead do something unique. My goal as a photographer is to deliver authentic photos (explained here) as well as unique portraits. We decided to do a 'lifestyle' session, where we just spent some time together and I followed them around on a typical Saturday afternoon for them. We both wanted to avoid entirely contrived photos (we did goof around a bit with some sunglasses but that was it), instead focusing on a more authentic and true-to-life session.
I look forward to meeting little Miss Brooklyn and hearing all the stories about her growth. Enjoy these portraits of Stacy and Sean (and their baby dog Oscar) on their last days as a child-free couple.
Oscar plays in the nursery
You don't want to know what we were joking about at this moment ;)
Tried to have a little experimental fun.. Sean was fully on board.
Sean doting on Oscar.. poor dog, once Brooklyn is born, he's gonna take 2nd place.
Oscar likes to walk on this path
I didn't ask them to do this... afterwards, they turned around and asked if they should kiss again to get a photo.
Went to eat lunch at their favorite restaurant. One of my favorites too!
They did want some nice, standard portraits too, but it's hard to keep it a normal shoot with me!
