Ellen + Ben Wedding, 10 Jul 10

Ben and Ellen heard of me through Shelby and Andrew's Lower Mill / Rabbit Room wedding and trusted me to document their wedding day. I was excited to travel to this destination wedding on Block Island, RI and deliver on that trust. The ceremony and reception was held at the Atlantic Inn, a historic inn overlooking the shores of the Atlantic ocean. Music was provided by Paula Pinto at Moondance Productions. This was my first time on Block Island and I can say the place definitely has charm and a relaxed attitude. The people are friendly and if you're into seafood- there's plenty around (especially lobster). A very New-England-ish sort of place. I look forward to the chance to revisit with my family someday.

There's some great stories in these photos so I'll comment along. Enjoy!

Getting ready

A moment to reflect right before getting in the dress and heading down to the ceremony.

Mom and sister help fit the dress.. it wasn't adjusted properly at this point ;)

Lots of awesome details.. so many to choose from. Ellen is a designer by trade (always fun working with creative types!) and did an excellent job coordinating the details of her own wedding, without breaking the bank.

Ben and his parents coming for the ceremony

Yay! Married!

A little bit of time for some portraits

Custom straws for the cocktails. Everyone enjoyed their drinks :)

Ben and Ellen provided the most awesome gift bag to their guests (as favors) ever.. samples of foods from various places that are important to them both individually and together. Of course, Ellen tossed in some design sensibility and voila!

First dance

Once the music started and the feather boas came out, people got dancing :)

A special song (Lady Gaga) for Ben's dad. I love the reaction of the guests behind him LOL

One minor thing went wrong.. Paula here bumped her leg against some hot lights and got a really nasty burn :( Hope she gets better soon. The party was definitely jumping when I had to head out for the night.

And thanks to Nicole (in the turquoise dress) and Eric for the good word to Ellen and Ben!

Thank you again Ellen and Ben for a great time (and a chance for my wife to take a break). I enjoyed being a part of your wedding.
